What is a dental floss?

Dental floss is a bundle of thin nylon filaments used to clean
interdental spaces.


Which dental floss should you use?

Two types of floss are available ---

Nylon (or multifilament) floss
PTFE (monofilament) floss
Nylon floss is available as waxed floss and unwaxed floss. Nylon floss
is composed of many filaments of nylon, it may sometimes shred between
the teeth which have tight contact points. Single filament (PTFE) is
shred-resistant. If used with care, both types work best.
